MY OBESITY TREATMENT WEBSITE
ASSIGMENT
GOAL
There is no accounting for taste. For those with excessive taste for sweets, we have launched the My Obesity Treatment (mojelecbaobezity.cz) website. The objective of this project is to provide information about effective obesity treatments, including bariatric surgery. This invasive treatment is one of the most effective methods of treating obesity in individuals with a BMI of 43 and above. However, as with other treatment methods, it is important that people also curb their sweet tooth to achieve the desired results and maintain their optimal weight.
The website serves as a primary source of information about bariatric surgery. It provides comprehensive information about the treatment method and addresses any question from potential patients. It is therefore the optimal source of information. Specific questions can be asked via the helpdesk, which is part of the website and serves as a tool for reviewing and adding to the content of the website.
Social media represents the second most important tool in a PR campaign. In collaboration with the project ambassador Tereza, we set up and successfully launched a Facebook community page which is open to all interested parties. The aim is to foster a community of individuals who have undergone similar surgical procedures, to facilitate the sharing of experiences and to provide mutual support in the context of successful treatment.
The community has been highly successful in meeting these objectives, with members offering support, sharing their achievements, motivating each other and discussing their journeys before and after surgery.
To support the community, we provide regular Facebook Live streams with bariatric surgeons to answer questions generated by the community.
The more authentic a PR campaign is, the more credible it is. This is why we endeavour to promote genuine, authentic stories in every project. These stories, in the form of a video, an interview or even a social media feed, are an effective means of establishing credibility and, consequently, the long-term viability of a PR project.
The same methodology was employed for this project. We partnered with an ambassador who had undergone bariatric surgery and created a video featuring her story that we utilised in social media campaigns.
